چکیده

In order to prevent global warming, the emissions of greenhouse gases must be reduced. In public transportation systems, electric buses can help to achieve this. However, the deployment of electric buses has been limited to public corporations as a result of the weight of the required energy storage devices. One approach to addressing this problem is rapidly charging the electric bus at every bus stop, thereby reducing the required energy storage and weight. In addition, charging buses using electrical power generated from renewable energy sources could further reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. For such a system, the required energy for each bus route must be estimated and the storage device designed to minimize the weight of the bus. In this study, the feasibility of the proposed system is confirmed by a demonstration experiment using a converted electric minivan. Then, a simulator to calculate the energy consumption of a full-size bus is developed by extrapolating the parameters used in a simulator for the electric minivan, which were validated experimentally. A trial bus-mounted storage device for the route is also designed.

A MILP Model for Coordinated Charging of Electric Vehicles in Smart Unbalanced LV Distribution Networks Using Floating Charge Method

In this paper, a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model is proposed to solve the charging problem of electric vehicles (EVs) using floating charge method meaning that the EV, could be supplied by each of the three phases connected to a special bus. In other words, unlike a usual household load which is only supplied by a particular phase, in the floating charge method it is assumed that ...

Optimal Siting and Sizing of Hybrid Energy Systems (PV-WT-CHP) and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Simultaneously based on Game Theory Approach

This paper proposes a methodology for practical siting and sizing of Hybrid energy systems (HESs) consist of: wind turbine (WT), photovoltaic (PV) and combined heat and power (CHP) units. In this method, the interaction of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PIEVs) in the electric distribution system is considered. Electric Vehicle are seen to have some negative impacts on electric distribution system p...

Sliding-Mode Control of a Charger/Discharger DC/DC Converter for DC-Bus Regulation in Renewable Power Systems

Stand-alone power systems based on renewable energy sources are used to replace generators based on fossil fuels. Those renewable power systems also require Energy Storage Devices (ESD) interfaced by a charger/discharger power converter, which consist of a bidirectional DC/DC converter, and a DC bus. This paper proposes a single sliding-mode controller (SMC) for the charger/discharger DC/DC con...

Improving the resilience of active distribution networks by optimal charging/discharging management of electric vehicles in parking lots

In the event of a severe incident with a high impact and low probability of occurrence, distribution networks may be separated from upstream networks and several feeders may be disconnected simultaneously within the distribution networks. In such circumstances, to maximize the resilience of the distribution networks and to prevent long-term global outages, they are reconfigured and islanded to ...

Minimization of Construction Costs for an All Battery-Swapping Electric-Bus Transportation System: Comparison with an All Plug-In System

The greenhouse gases and air pollution generated by extensive energy use have exacerbated climate change. An electric-bus (e-bus) transportation system favors reducing pollution and carbon emissions. This study analyzed the minimization of construction costs for an all batteryswapping public e-bus transportation system. A simulation was conducted according to existing timetables and routes. Day...
